BMS XXL center stack demonstrator
The center stack demonstrator design study clearly illustrates the technical potential: large-area, closed, seamless, freely formable surfaces that are scratchproof and chemical-resistant, with the possibility of integrated functions.
This has been made possible through the refinement of the high-pressure forming (HPF) process for large parts up to an area of 500 x 1000 mm. The abrasion and chemical-resistant, formable Makrofol® HF278 hardcoat film is cured with UV light after forming. Prior to that, the back of the film has been screen printed with conductive tracks in addition to the backing white, so that the demonstrator can be controlled via printed capacitive switches. On the front, to show the dual-gloss look, the film is printed with the formable Norilux DC matte coating from the firm Pröll, which is also UV-curable.
